They say first impressions last.
One of the things people remember the most is how you smell. That is why I give so much importance on the fragrance I use.
I call myself a scent junkie, Every time I go to a department store I will always pass by the perfume section to check out the latest scents or to get a whiff of my favourite colognes or perfumes. One of the things I enjoy when I travel is discovering new scents from different stores/boutiques that are exclusive to the establishment.
Through the years I have tried a lot of scents and I have narrowed my list to a chosen few that I consider my absolute favorites… for the moment.
- Jo Malone – Lime Basil Mandarin
Jo Malone’s signature fragrance infused with the citrus scent of limes mixed with peppery basil and aromatic thyme makes this one of my all time favorite scents.
Top Notes: Lime, Mandarin Orange and Bergamot
Middle Notes: Basil, Lilac, Iris and Thyme
Base Notes: Patchouli and Vetiver
- Heeley – Menthe Fraiche
Heeley’s contemporary, cool, fresh and natural scent of crushed mint leaves with a hint of Sicillian bergamot, Green Tea and White Cedar makes this the perfect fragrance for the modern and universal individual.
Top Notes: Mint Leaf and Sicilian Bergamot
Middle Notes: Lotus and Mate
Base Notes: White Cedar
- The Different Company – Bergamote
The Different Company’s Bergamote is a timeless scent that has a lasting aroma of citrus blends that can easily be worn from day to night.
Top Notes: Bergamot and Ginger
Middle Notes: Orange Blossom and Green notes
Base Notes: Rhubarb and Musk
- Francis Kurkdjian – Absolue and Cologne Pour le Matin
The combination of Absolue Pour le Matin and Cologne Pour Le Matin evokes the aroma of summer with its citrus blend of lemon and bergamot.
Top Notes: Calabrian Bergamot and Sicilian Lemon
Middle Notes: Moroccan White Thyme, Lavender, Tunisian Neroli
Base Notes: Woody Iris Accord, Dry Amber Accord, Violet Accord
- Frederic Fekkai – Eau Du Jour & Bouquet de Provence
Beauty expert Frederic Fekkai came out with two perfumes in the late 90’s exclusively sold in his salon in New York and Beverly Hills. The combination Eau Du Jour’s citrus notes and Bouquet de Provence’s fruity and floral notes were a match made in heaven. It can be used individually but I prefer combining the two, creating a scent uniquely my own. Unfortunately the perfumes have been discontinued. Hoping that one day Frederic Fekkai will bring it back.
Eau Du Jour
Top Notes: Lemon, Orange, Rosemary, Tea Tree, Clary Sage
Middle Notes: Jasmine and Rose
Base Notes: Cedarwood and Moss
Bouquet de Provence
Top Notes: Lemon, Blackcurrant Berries, Peach
Middle Notes: Rose
Base Notes: Cypress and Oakmoss
