Part two of our Bali trip bring us to Nusa Dua where the girls went shopping at Bali Collection, an open air mall that showcased the best of the Balinese culture. We were so glad that the sun was out and the weather was just perfect. There were bands playing by the entrance to the beach which added to the cool vibe of the place.
The best way to go around Bali is to hire a driver that can drive you for a whole day, which will cost you $100-200 depending on the season. You can ask your travel agent for help if you want to hire one.
Later that evening we went to one of the most famous restaurants in Bali called Bumbu Bali. We made sure we made a reservation since it is quite pouplar, true enough when we got to the restaurant, it was packed. They had an open kitchen, where we could watch how an authentic Balinese cuisine is prepared. Words could not describe how good the food was.
Suffice to say we had a gastronomical feast and the best part about the meal was when we got our bill, we were so surprised to know how reasonable everything was considering we ordered a lot almost everything in the menu.
The satay was the best. For anyone who plans to go to Bali, you cannot miss going to Bumbu Bali. Just ask the concierge at your hotel to book a reservation for you.
It was impossible to see everything in Nusa Dua in one day so we just had to go back. This time we went to Pasar Senggol at the Hyatt Resort. Ayen stayed there 15 years ago and she told me about this open air restaurant where there were shops that sold balinese arts and crafts. While having dinner under the stars a cultural show that showcased the best of Bali was presented. Ayen was so entertained and said that the costumes of the women in the show reminded her of costumes she wore in her TV show Amaya in GMA.
Nusa Dua was truly an enchanting place where the people were so warm. I can’t wait to go back.
