What can you expect form the 11thyear of the Red Charity Gala? Well its simple the BEST! That’s what this year’s edition presented, RCG Co-Chairpersons Tessa Prieto Valdes and Kaye Tinga brought back all the past 10 featured designers and asked them to showcase a capsule collection highlighting each designer’s strength and unique style. The end result was a visual extravaganza that clearly stated Philippine Fashion and our Designers are simply world-class.
Each collection was presented from the first featured designer 11 years ago, Dennis Lustico followed by Furne One Amato then by Michael Cinco, Cary Santiago, Ezra Santos, Jojie Lloren, Lesley Mobo, Chito Vijandre, Joey Samson and finally my cousin Rajo Laurel. 10 Designers, 8 models each, 8 distinct looks.
Robby Carmona did an excellent job directing the show where he meticulously showcased each designer’s collection with grace and excellence. Noel Manapat’s styling is a cut above the rest.
The finale was quite emotional seeing all 9 designers walk down together to take their bow (Dennis Lustico could not make it that evening as he was out of the country.) Kaye was in tears as she went on stage to congratulate the designers. I took a video which, you can watch on my IGTV and it reminded me of the film Avenger’s Endgame where all the Marvel Superheroes were together. I called it the Avengers Endgame of Philippine Fashion.
This is definitely one of the best Red Charity Galas I have ever attended. Congrats guys on raising all that money to help raise funds for the Philippine National Red Cross and Assumption HS Batch ’81 Foundation.
Here’s looking forward to Red Charity Gala 2020. Everybody is in full anticipation now on the next featured designer. Who will it be?
