Family Life

No Dad Like You

Parenting is an ongoing journey for me.  As most of you know I became an instant father of two when I married Ayen.  I had a crash course on parenthood, which for the most part was fun and enriching but also quite challenging.

I legally adopted Mariella, which I promised her when she was 10 while Hasan for obvious reasons I could not. Throughout the years I have learned to be a friend to him more than a father since he already has one, which made our relationship even more special.

When Angia was born I was in cloud nine and again raising her along with her older siblings is one of the greatest privileges I’ve ever had.  There were some bumpy roads and learning curves along the way that only made me a more understanding father.  It made realize more of what unconditional love is all about.  If you are a parent and you are reading this then you will know what I am talking about.

Sofia and Lucia came at a time when I was more settled as a person and my view on life and parenting has evolved to a more holistic way.

Here’s the fact, there is no one-size-fits-all in parenting.  Every style and situation is unique.  I want to encourage every parent out there that we have no right to judge someone’s parenting style since you don’t know what each parent is going through.

Instead let us support and celebrate each other’s unique parenting style!
