Celebrating 10 years of compassion, commitment and philanthropy has made this year’s Red Charity Gala the biggest and most successful it has ever been. More than 1,200 attended the well-dressed affair to celebrate my cousin Rajo’s 25^thyear in the fashion industry.

Red Charity Gala’s Chairwomen Tessa Prieto Valdes and Kaye Tinga pulled out all the stops and assembled a team led by Robby Carmona and my cousin Venisse Laurel Hermano to come up with a show that showcased Rajo’s impeccable body of work featuring more than 100 pieces in a collection called Archipelago.

Watching his show made me feel nostalgic, you see Rajo is our eldest cousin and I came after him so we literally grew up together. I saw at an early age his love for creating beautiful things and the countless sketchpads he carried with him wherever he went so that when inspiration came at anytime he would draw and take down notes. His passion for the arts and design led him to an industry that embraced him with open arms, yes there were challenging times but he faced it head on and came out a champion. His vision and dedication to his craft has made him one of the most successful fashion designers and entrepreneurs in the country. At 46 he along with his core group of family and friends have built an empire that is now a template on creating a brand that is world class.
