This year’s Red Charity Gala felt especially meaningful to me.

The featured designer, JC Buendia, is not only one of the country’s most respected designers, but also one of my oldest and dearest friends. And making the evening even more special was the fact that it was Ayen’s first time attending the gala, all for the love of JC.

What I admire most about JC is that he has always remained true to himself. His aesthetic has never needed to shout. It is clean, elegant, refined, wearable, timeless and most importantly full of class. This collection was no exception. Every piece reflected the quiet confidence of a designer who knows exactly who he is and has never felt the need to compromise his vision.

The finale was deeply emotional, especially for those of us who have known and loved JC for many years. He dedicated the show to his mother, Corazon, whose influence continues to live through his work and through the grace, discipline, and artistry he brings to everything he creates. Tita Zonie must have been smiling down from Heaven, beaming with pride as JC took that final bow.
Bravo, JC. We are immensely proud of you, and we love you dearly. To see this moment happen for you was incredibly moving. Truly, everything happens in God’s perfect time.

Congratulations as well to Tessa Prieto and Kaye Tinga, whose enduring partnership has created something far greater than an annual fashion event. Through Red Charity Gala, you have built a legacy that celebrates Filipino talent, elevates Philippine fashion, and proves that beauty and generosity can exist beautifully side by side.

A memorable evening, made even more special by friendship, love, and purpose. Thank you Jewelmer for inviting us to sit at your table.
Blessings,
